JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Following a two-goal performance in Stetson's 4-1 road victory over Lipscomb, graduate midfielder Afonso Conde has been named the ASUN Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Conde helped set the tone early Saturday night in Nashville, scoring twice in the opening 23 minutes as the Hatters built a 3-0 halftime advantage on the way to their second conference victory of the season.
The Lisbon, Portugal, native opened the scoring less than four minutes into the match before finding the back of the net again midway through the first half. He finished the night with two goals on three shots, placing both of his shots on frame.
The brace marked Conde's first multi-goal match of the season and pushed him into the team lead with four goals on the year. His performance also helped Stetson match its season high for goals in a game while securing the Hatters' first road win of the season.
Conde has continued to be one of Stetson's most reliable attacking threats in 2026. After scoring game-winning goals in back-to-back victories over West Florida and Presbyterian earlier in the season, Saturday's two-goal effort gave him four goals across Stetson's three wins this fall.
Stetson returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 6, when the Hatters travel to Tampa to face South Florida. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Corbett Stadium.
