Boca Raton, Fla. – The Stetson volleyball team battled to keep its all-time best five-game season-opening win streak alive on Saturday afternoon against host Florida Atlantic in the Owls Paradise Classic.
After splitting the first two sets of the match, FAU was able to take control for a 25-21 victory in the third set before closing out the Hatters 25-15 in the fourth and final set.
Stetson falls to 5-1 on the year with the loss while the Owls improved to 5-1.
For the first time this year the Hatters posted an attack percentage of less than .200, converting a season-high 50 kills on 146 attacks with a season-high 27 attack errors. FAU took advantage of those attack errors, posting a .322 attack percentage.

Elena Djokovic led Stetson with 15 kills on 50 total attacks in the match. She also had a team-high 15 digs. Senior

Sophia Groom had 10 kills each in the match. Sophomore
Nyah Molina had a season-high 40 assists for the Hatters.
After two weeks away, the Hatters will make their 2022 home debut this weekend when they host the 2022 Stetson Invitational. The Hatters will host teams from Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (SIUE), Bethune-Cookman and Mercer with matches starting on Friday afternoon at the Edmunds Center.
