The Hatters fell to the Owls on Sunday afternoon 1-0 at the Athletic Training Center.
Â
The first half saw the Hatters controlling most of possession and creating more opportunities. Stetson was able to register eight shots in the first 45 minutes with several that coming in the box that were saved or blocked. Near the end of the first half
Kelly Gende took an absolute rip of a shot that the Owls goalkeeper laid out to save. The Hatters continue to fight through injuries as
Alexa LoBasso went down on a hit from a defender who wasn't even attempting to play the ball.
Â
The Hatters continued battling in the second half on a soggy field despite missing the left foot of LoBasso who is second on the team in goals. The Owls would create runs on the sidelines against Stetson before scoring on a ball initially saved by Osborn. Stetson would continue pushing adding four more shots to their total as they worked to tie the game. They would run out of time and fall short though.
Â
Stetson will continue their homestand as they will host Lipscomb on Thursday October 5. Kickoff will be at 7:00pm at the Athletic Training Center.
