The Hatters honored seniors
Ashleigh Wise,
Sarah Grimmett,
Evie Wysong,
Anna Brethauer,
Alexa LoBasso and
Chloe Washington for Senior Day which showcased a hard fight between Stetson and Austin Peay in a 0-0 draw. Stetson was missing two of their seniors in LoBasso and Washington because of injury as well as several other key contributors. The draw would earn the Hatters another point in conference play.
Â
With Wysong and Brethauer anchoring the back line, the Hatters fought off Austin Peay and came within inches of earning a win. Stetson would create several opportunities throughout the game outshooting the Governors 18-15. The Hatters would also have the edge in possession as they frequently put pressure on the Austin Peay goalkeeper.
Mallory Osborn had another strong showing today in goal as she would tie her career high with twelve saves.
Â
Jillian Therrien,
Anna Brethauer and
Kelly Gende led the Hatters with three shots each as the Hatters offensive pressure continues to build each game. They are close to finding the back of the net and when they do it could open the floodgates.
Â
The Hatters will look to continue their momentum Thursday afternoon as they take on Eastern Kentucky. Kickoff for the match will be at 4pm at the EKU Soccer Field.
