The Hatters are rolling off their third straight victory, their most recent being over UCF, as they host College of Coastal Georgia on Wednesday, Nov.29. The game will tip off at 7pm in the Edmunds Center.

History
This is the first time that the Hatters have faced off against the NAIA Sun Conference members Coastal Georgia.

Scouting the Hatters (4-2, ASUN 0-0)
Stetson is coming off a week there they brought home some hardware by way of winning the Sunshine Slam before ending their 20-game losing streak against UCF. The Hatter's two losses came against UNLV and #6 ranked Houston. They have bounced back though with contributions coming from the starters and the bench.

Jalen Blackmon leads the team as he has totaled 20 points or more in each of his last three games. Over the course of the season, he is shooting .447/.489/.909 while also grabbing 3.3 rebounds per game. Stephan Swenson broke his shooting slump as he made deep three just a step inside the logo against UCF for only his second three point made this season. He has now scored double digits in the last three games bringing his average up to 10.3. He also added 27 assists over the last three games giving him 43 on the season. Aubin Gateretse is averaging 7.8 rebounds while also tallying two double doubles this season as he also averages 12 points per game.

As a team the Hatters are making it rain from beyond the arc shooting at a .377 clip and averaging over 10 three-point attempts per game. They were also able to increase their free throw percentage in their game against UCF as they hit fourteen free throws in a row to hold off the Knights. The Hatters are grabbing almost 40 rebounds per game and are rebounding their opponents by an average of 3.7. Stetson is starting to rack up their assist numbers while working to decrease the number of turnovers they have. The first half seems to be where the Hatters start off shaky before finding composure after halftime and settling into their rhythm.

Scouting the Mariners (5-3, Sun 0-0)
The Mariners are coming off a 75-68 victory over Brewton-Parker College, rebounding from their loss to Fort Lauderdale in their previous game.

Coastal Georgia is led by Nick Jiles who is averaging 20 points per game while shooting .448/.396/.879. He also leads the team in steals with 17 and assists with 36. Jiles has shot almost 40 field goals more than any of his teammates leading to the high point per game total. Layton Veon is averaging 7.6 rebounds per game to lead the Mariners while also averaging a second best 12.4 points per game.

Despite their 5-3 record, the Mariners are only averaging 73.6 points per game while giving up 74.5. They are outrebounding their opponents by 2.8 per game and average 15 assists per game. Like the Hatters, Coastal Georgia has a negative turnover margin averaging almost 15 a game.

Up Next
The Hatters will head on the road to take on Chicago State in the first game of a home and home. The game will tip off at 2pm on Sunday Dec. 3 at the Emil and Patricia A. Jones Convocation Center.
