Hatters Look to Close Out Season Strong

The Hatters are seeking a spot in the ASUN playoffs as they aim to earn two key wins against the Dolphins and the Ospreys. Stetson will take on Jacksonville Friday, November 10 at 7pm and North Florida on Saturday, November 11 at 6pm.

History 

The Hatters have faced Jacksonville 61 times. The teams first played September 10, 1994 and their most recent matchup was on September 23, 2023 with the Hatters coming out on top 3-1. Stetson and North Florida have played each other 39 times with their first match being September 23, 2005 and their last being September 22, 2023 as the Hatters captured a 3-2 victory in a close match. 

Scouting the Hatters (12-14, ASUN 7-7) 

Stetson has played tremendous volleyball in the first two sets in three of their last four matches but only have one win to show for their work. This has put some added pressure on this team as they head into the weekend 7th in the conference standings. Stetson can clinch a spot in the ASUN Playoffs with a win in either game this weekend. Anabelle Standish leads with Hatters with 339 kills which is tied for 2nd in the ASUN.. Nyah Molina is fifth in the conference with 773 assists. Haruka Sugimoto leads the team in digs with 397 which is good for fourth in the conference. Sophia Groom sits second in the conference with 111 blocks. 

Scouting the Opponents (JU 8-18, ASUN 5-9) (UNF 15-13, ASUN 8-6) 

The Dolphins are led by Anna Erickson in kills with 295 and is followed by Alija Heins who has 213. Kristina Nika leads the team with 359. Rebecca Rocassin leads the team with assists with 956. Jacksonville comes into the match with 156 aces. 

The Ospreys are led by Kailey McKnight in kills with 339 with Kierstyn McFall following with 219. Rocio Moro leads in digs with 525. The Ospreys come into the matchup with 1243 assists and 183 digs.

Should the Hatters clinch a playoff spot, their next game will be the first round of ASUN playoffs on November 16 at the host site Florida Gulf Coast.
