Five Hatters record double figures in their 123-43 victory over Johnson University (Fla.)

The first two minutes of the game went scoreless before the Suns would make the first shot of the game to take the lead. After two offensive rebounds
Aubin Gateretse would hit a layup to give the Hatters their first points of the contest and begin a 9-0 run. The Suns would break up the run, but Stetson would create a 15-0 run this time, with six different Hatters scoring a bucket. After a Johnson bucket the Hatters would come down the floor where
Treyton Thompson would get the defender to leave his feet. Thompson would then drive to the basket before slamming it home. Stetson then increased their lead to 28 on a 10-0 run with a three pointer from both
Tristan Gross and
Jalen Blackmon. The Hatters would build a 38-point lead going into halftime by a score of 60-22. At the half, Blackmon would lead the team with 16 points followed closely behind by Thompson with 14. The Hatters created 20 points on 11 forced turnovers while also putting up 12 second chance points from 7 offensive rebounds.Â

Stephan Swenson would start the scoring for the Hatters in the second half on a driving layup. Stetson would once again go on a 15-0 run bookended by three pointers. With around 12 minutes left in the game Head Coach
Donnie Jones went to the bench. After back-to-back threes from the Suns, the Hatters went on a 13-0 run getting four points from both
Finley Sheridan and
Giancarlo Valdez. Stetson wasn't done scoring as before the end of the half they would go on another 10-0 with four points coming from
Isaac Jones.
Naeem Lewis would hit a three with 47 seconds left in the game before the Hatters dribbled the clock out on their next position finished the game 123-43.Â

Blackmon finished the game as the leading scorer with 22 points. Thompson,
Cyncier Harrison, Gateretse and Oglesby were the other four Hatters who finished the game in double figures. Thompson led the team in rebounds with 8.

As a team the Hatters limited their turnovers to seven while forcing 20. They tallied 29 points off their 20 forced turnovers while adding six more second chance points in the second half to give them 18. The team shot 60% from the field and 45.5% from beyond the arc. They also didn't miss a free throw going a perfect 12-12.Â

The Hatters will head back on the road for a three-game road trip. They will start off against the University of Nebraska at Omaha on Sunday, Dec. 17 for a 2pm tip-off.Â
