Kennesaw, Ga. - The Stetson University women's basketball team fell short 70-57 on the road to Kennesaw State at the Convocation Center, Saturday on the road. Khamya McNeal led the Hatters with 12 points and five rebounds on the night. The Owls out shot the Hatters 17-11 in the first quarter. Stetson picked up momentum in the third quarter, outshooting the Owls 24-18. Their rally fell short in the third as the Owls regained control, outshooting Stetson 18-9. Stetson racked up 32 points from the paint, 14 fast break points, 31 bench points and committed no technical fouls.
During the 24-point third quarter for Stetson, Maddie Novak had the hot hand. Novak hit three shots from beyond the arc helping cut the deficit to five points.Khamya McNeal scored seven of the Hatters nine fourth quarter points, including a nasty up and under layup getting the and 1 call with it.
The Hatters face off against Jacksonville State (8-8) in their season finale on March 1st at 1:00pm. Stetson still has a chance to get into the ASUN Playoffs with a win.
Stetson will take on Jacksonville State on Wednesday, March 1 at home in the Edmunds Center as they look to clinch their spot in the ASUN Playoffs.
