Kennesaw, GA – After a several hour delay Stetson (14-5, 4-0) was able to pick up the victory against Kennesaw State (6-6, 1-3) in a clinch style match.
Doubles were not played due to the delay and time constraints, so only single matches were scored in a clinch style match.
Cheri Darley would drop 5-7, 2-6 on court three to start singles play and that would be the only loss on the day for the Hatters.
Noa Cohen would pick up the first point for Stetson going 7-5, 6-2. Pilar Harper would get the next point winning on court six 6-2, 6-1. Court five was next to finish as
Magdalena Hedrzak won in a 3-set match 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
Anais Gabriel would get the final point needed to clinch the victory for the Hatters on court two winning in 3-sets 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
"A great weekend for our confidence. Today was a super tough match on the road. This team is tough in the big moments. The overall score does not reflect how tough this win really was," said Stetson head coach
Travis Sandlant. "The trust in one another for a team effort and for players to step up when needed is great. Everyone is sharing the load."
Stetson will continue ASUN play as they travel to Tennessee to take on Austin Peay on Friday March 31st 11:00 a.m.
