DeLand FL,- Stetson Softball welcomes Becca Taylor as the new Pitching Coach. Head Coach Shellie Robinson Cousins fills the full-time Assistant Coach position after a year of vacancy.
 
"We are very excited to add Becca to our staff as our pitching coach! She brings years of experience and knowledge to DeLand, and we are thrilled she has chosen to be a Hatter" exclaimed Robinson Cousins. "Becca has proven herself as a coach and even more importantly, she is a top-notch person who will fit in perfectly with our culture and team here at Stetson.  We are pumped to have her in Hatter Green!"
 
Taylor comes to Stetson after five years at Northwest Florida as an Assistant Coach. While at Northwest Florida the team set many offensive records and had 11 players named to the All-Conference team as well as 5 All-Region Players. 
 
Before joining Northwest Florida Taylor served as a graduate assistant at West Florida where she worked primarily with the pitchers. One of her players was named Pitcher of the year in the Region. 
 
Taylor herself pitched for West Florida from 2014-2017, where she ranks 10^th in Gulf South Conference history with 31.1 consecutive scoreless innings pitched. She is eight in career starts with 81 and wins with 81 as well as ninth with 515.1 career innings pitched. 
 
Taylor's pitching knowledge will be brought to a Stetson pitching staff that posted a 2.52 ERA, 9 shutouts, and 257 strikeouts. Stetson's pitchers kept them in many softball games in the 2023 season helping them to beat teams such as UCF, Georgia and South Carolina. Having Taylor work this pitching staff could make them a force to be reckoned with next season.
