DELAND, Fla.- Redshirt Sophomore
Annika Seem was awarded ASUN Player of the Week honors for her play throughout the first week of the regular season. The midfielder, who transferred from the University of San Diego, made a statement this past week in games against Miami and Air Force.
Against the Hurricanes, Seem logged 56 minutes of action while attempting a shot from inside the box for the Hatters. In their Sunday matchup against Air Force, Seem came one goal shy of a hat trick, scoring both of the team's goals including the first made penalty kick for the Hatters since 2019. She scored one in each half while adding two more shots to her total. Her first goal of the contest occurred in the 42
nd minute to tie the game at one apiece. Seem's second goal came in the 54
th minute of play on a penalty kick that was granted to the Hatters after a foul on the Falcons goalie.
The Hatters will return to the pitch at 5:00 PM on Thursday, Aug. 24 at the ATC as they face off against Charleston Southern for the first of a double header with the men's team.
