MIAMI, FLA- The Stetson Hatters fought through two different lightning delays that saw the game start over two-hours after the originally scheduled time as they fell to the Panthers 4-0.
The adversity for the Hatters didn't stop there as Stetson's Captain
Anna Brethauer left the game in the fourth minute with an injury that shifted many different pieces around for the team. Despite all the adversity the Hatters didn't back down from the fight as they fought tooth and nail with the Panthers until the very last second.
Zoie Weinberger led Stetson with two shots which both came in the second half of this contest. Sophomore
Avery Wise, Junior
Georgia Place and Sophomore
Alexis Smith all earned their first starts of the season. Wise, along with
Lea Alexander,
Sawyer Reynolds and
Kelly Gende all played the full 90 minutes of the contest which saw many different players playing different positions on the pitch to overcome the adversity.
The Hatters will return home to
Deland for a matchup with Green Bay. Kick-off for that game will be at noon at the Athletic Training Center.
