The Hatters Women's Soccer team falls to North Florida Sunday evening at the Athletic Training Center 2-1.
Stetson started the first half a little flat footed as the Ospreys would score a goal in the fifth minute. The Hatters would respond the rest of the first half by keeping the Ospreys out of the back of the net thanks to nine saves from Goalkeeper
Mallory Osborn.
In the second half neither team really had much momentum to start. That was until
Kelly Gende took a hard foul and had to be taken off the field. That foul seemed to wake the Hatters up as
Alexa LoBasso would find paydirt three minutes later tying the game at one on a beautiful strike off her left foot.
Annika Seem would get credit for the assist as she was able to make the pass under duress. The Ospreys would score again making the score 2-1. The Hatters would continue putting pressure on North Florida as they played some of their best soccer of the night with quick passes, great decisions and a flurry of shots. Time would run out for the Hatters though as they fall to 1-1 in conference play.
Mallory Osborn recorded a career high 12 saves tonight for the Hatters as
Georgia Place led the team with three shots all being on goal.
The Hatters will travel up to North Alabama on Thursday 21 for an 8pm kick off at the Bill Jones Complex.
