Florence, Ala. - The Hatters fell to the North Alabama 2-0 Thursday night at the Bill Jones Complex.
Â
Stetson is now 1-2 through their first three conference games of the season as the team continues to fight while working players back from injury. One of those players Sailor Claire returned to the pitch tonight. Claire appeared for nine minutes in her first action since the Hatters played their season opener against Miami. The Hatters keep rotating positions as they look to fill the roles from injury.
Â
North Alabama would score two goals in the first half before Stetson would clamp down defensively. The Hatters were able to keep the Lions from scoring on any of their corner kicks during the match. In the second half Stetson was able to create a few different opportunities but ran out of space on several through balls to the corner.
Â
Mallory Osborn added to her ASUN leading saves total. She tallied another eight saves giving her 64 on the season. Osborn did all she could to keep the Lions out of the back of the net as she punched away several shots in the first as well as sealing the post on a short side shot late in the second half.Â
Â
Stetson will return to action Sunday, September 24 as they take on Central Arkansas. Kickoff will commence at 1pm at The Bill Stevens Soccer Complex.Â
