Stetson Earns 2-1 Victory over Queens

Remain Undefeated in Conference Play

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Stetson Hatters rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the second half to defeat the Queens Royals 2-1 on the road Saturday night. Down 1-0, the Hatters' top scorers delivered once again, with Afonso Conde netting the equalizer and Maurice Hauser scoring the game-winner in the 80th minute, pushing Stetson to 4-4-3 overall and 3-0-1 in ASUN play. They now stand as the only team without a conference loss.

After a scoreless first half, Queens took the lead in the 71st minute. The Hatters responded quickly, leveling the match just four minutes later when Conde fired home his third goal of the season.

The decisive moment came in the 79th minute when Hauser netted his fourth goal of the year, assisted by Andres Mata and Xavi Csato, sealing the 2-1 victory for the Hatters.

Goalkeeper Nicolo Radaelli was solid in net, recording two saves out of 10 shots faced.

Stetson will take a brief pause from ASUN competition for their final non-conference game as they head to Tampa to face the USF Bulls on Tuesday night.
