Women's Soccer Drops Match To Central Arkansas 2-0

DeLand, Fla. – Stetson Women's Soccer fell to Central Arkansas 2-0 in a physical match Thursday evening. A total of 31 fouls were called and four yellow cards were given out.

The Hatters came out with great pace to start the match and almost scored as a shot from Lea Alexander hit off the top left corner of the crossbar. A couple of minutes later, the Bears scored to take the lead. Stetson out shot Central Arkansas in the first half five to three but were unable to find the back of the net.

To start the second half, the Hatters pushed the tempo early and were able to draw a penalty kick coming off a corner kick. Stella Comana walked up to the dot with a chance to knot the match up at one. Unfortunately, she got a little too much air under it and lifted it just over the bar.  Stetson almost tied the game up again later in the half when another of Alexander's shots hit the top of the crossbar. An additional opportunity came for the Hatters as time was winding down in the game when Georgia Place created a run down the left sideline and just missed slotting it past the keeper. The Bears tallied their second goal soon after on a penalty kick and the Hatters dropped the match 2-0.

Stetson doubled up Central Arkansas on shots, tallying 14 while also having three corner kicks to their zero.

Up next for Stetson is their final home game against North Alabama on Sunday, October 20 at 1:00pm.
