DELAND, Fla. – The Stetson Hatters closed out their home schedule with a 2-1 victory over the North Alabama Lions on Sunday afternoon at the Athletic Training Center. Stetson never trailed in the contest, with Avery Wise and Vanessa Manoil each finding the back of the net. The win improves the Hatters' record to 8-10-0 overall and 3-7-0 in ASUN play.

The Hatters struck first in the 12th minute when Wise scored her first goal of the season off a corner kick by Eva McCoy, breaking the scoreless tie early on.

Stetson doubled their lead in the second half when Manoil also recorded her first goal of the year on a header right in front of the net in the 76th minute, assisted by Kendall Brittingham, providing a crucial insurance goal.

North Alabama responded with a penalty kick goal in the closing minutes to trim the deficit to 2-1, but the Hatters held on to secure the win.

Goalkeeper Ashleigh Wise made two saves out of seven total shots from the Lions, while Stetson registered four shots on goal in the match.

The Hatters will wrap up the regular season on the road, traveling to Fort Myers to face FGCU on Saturday, October 26, at 5:00 p.m.
