CAMBRIDGE, MA - Stetson's women's rowing team competed in the Head of the Charles 4+ on Saturday, finishing in 27th.
The Head of the Charles Regatta is one of the premier events in rowing. The course starts at the Boston University DeWolfe Boathouse and ends at the Eliot Bridge in Brighton. The distance rowed is approximately three miles. A rolling start is used and boats cross the start every 15 seconds.
The Hatters 4+ started bow #18 and finished the course in 19:34.139 just in front of Iona University for a 27th place finish in the 49 boat race.Â
"Today was not our best performance. We can account for some of this coming from missed days of training because of two hurricanes and not being able to get out on the water. Ultimately, it's on me to figure out what changes need to be made. Thankfully I have a lot of time to work things out," Stetson head coach
Jamie Francis.
Lineup:
Up next for the Hatters is the Head of the Canal on November 9th in Fellsmere Florida on the Sebastian River.
