Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Gets Seventh Win on Senior Day

Stetson Women's Soccer rewarded their seniors and graduate tonight with a 1-0 victory over Queens for their seventh win of the season. Their seven wins is the most for the Hatters since 2017.

Prior to kickoff, the Hatters celebrated the contributions of seniors Zoie Weinberger, Kendall Brittingham, Jillian Therrien, Georgia Place, Lea Alexander, Sabrina Comana, and Kylie Overstreet as well as graduate Ashleigh Wise.

The sky decided to open as the teams warmed up for today's match and that really slowed down the pace of play. In the eleventh minute of the first half, Alexander sent a cross into the box looking for Stella Comana. A Queens defender slid in front of Comana and deflected the ball off another Queens defender and into the back of the goal.

The back line for the Hatters was on point clearing away any threatening chances for Queens and making Wise's life easy in the net with easy saves. Stetson continued pushing to get their second goal and almost had it as Payton Quinones took a shot from outside the box but just missed to the right of the goal.

Wise earned her second shutout in a row and fourth on the season making three saves.

Stetson has now won their last two conference games and have worked their way into a spot in the ASUN Conference Tournament. Their quest to stay in the top eight teams continues at Austin Peay on Thursday, October 10. That game will kick off at 7:00pm.
