Norman, Okla. – Stetson Men's Basketball fell to the Oklahoma Sooners 85-64 on Saturday afternoon in Norman.
Abramo Canka led the way for the Hatters with a career high 22 points.
Jordan Wood started the scoring for the game with a layup and followed it by forcing a turnover and finding
Treyton Thompson for a layup. Wood made it 6-2 with another layup on the next possession. Canka laid one in for his first bucket of the game making it 8-5 and
Jamie Phillips Jr. added a layup of his own to make it 10-7.
A couple of possession later Canka created a turnover and scored to make it 18-16 and the Hatters held a 19-16 lead at the under 12 timeout. The Sooners took the lead after that timeout and Canka hit Stetson's first three of the game as they trailed 39-24. The Hatters went into the half trailing 44-28.
Coming out for the second half, the Hatters went on a 7-2 run with Thompson splashing one in from beyond the arc. Stetson continued to chip away and Canka hit another three to make it 51-43 and capping off an 8-0 run. The Sooners pulled away and the Hatters fell 85-64.
Canka led the team in scoring with 22 points, going 8-12 from the field and 4-5 from three. Wood was the other Hatter in double figures scoring 11. Phillips Jr and Thompson tied for the team high in rebounds with five and Thompson finished with two blocks to lead the team.
Stetson will now return home and take the short trip to Daytona Beach and compete in the Battle of the Boardwalk. They will take on Toledo on Thursday, November 21 at 5:30pm.
