Louisville, KY – Stetson is coming off wild Saturday game where they defeated Central Arkansas in overtime 73-62. In that overtime period the Hatters held the Bears to just 2 points and Jalen Blackmon scored 11 out of the teams 13 points.
 
History
Stetson has played Bellarmine 5 times, going 2-3 in those games. The teams most recently faced off on January 12, 2023 with the Hatters coming out on top 80-51 in Kentucky. They first meeting took place on January 22, 2021.
Stetson and Eastern Kentucky have faced off twice with each team getting a win at home. The first meeting between the two took place on January 29, 2022. with the Hatters taking the victory 113-95. The most recent game was on January 14, 2023. 
 
Scouting the Hatters (14-10, ASUN 6-3)
Stetson is tied for second in the Atlantic Sun at 6-3. Blackmon, who scored 25 points against Central Arkansas, continues to lead the team in scoring averaging 20.6 points per game. He also reached the 1000 points milestone against North Alabama. Stephan Swenson continues to command the floor as he has tallied 150 assists while averaging 12.5 points per game. He is coming up to the 1000 point milestone as well needing 61 points to reach it. Aubin Gateretse leads the Hatters with 7.0 rebounds per game followed by Josh Smith with 5.5. Gateretse picked up his sixth double-double of the season against North Alabama.

Stetson is shooting 46.1% from the field and 36.7% from beyond the arc. The team is averaging 9.5 three points made per game which reflects in their average points per game of 76.4. The team has a 5.4 scoring margin by holding opponents to 71 points per game.  

Scouting the Knights (6-18, ASUN 2-7)
Bellarmine is coming off an 85-75 loss to Queens after beating Kennesaw State 96-95.Bash Wieland leads the Knights' offense, averaging 13.9 points per game followed by Ben Johnson who averages 11.6. Langdon Hatton is the team leader in rebounds grabbing 7 per game while also tallying 17 blocks.  As a team Bellarmine averages 68.7 points per game while shooting 43% from the field, 34.5% from beyond the arc and 78% from the free throw line.
 
Scouting the Colonels (12-10, ASUN 8-1)
Eastern Kentucky was handed their first loss in conference play from Queens before bouncing back and beating Kennesaw State. The Colonels have a three headed monster in Isaiah Cozart, Leland Walker, and Devontae Blanton. Cozart and Walker are both averaging 15 points per game with Blanton averaging just over 14 per game. Cozart also leads the team in rebounds, averaging 9.7, and blocks with 81. Walker can also pass the ball around as he has the team lead in assists with 94. As a team, the Colonels average 81.5 points per game while shooting 45% from the field, 35% from beyond the arc, and 68% from the free throw line.

After a week off from games, the Hatters will host Florida Gulf Coast to the Edmunds Center on Saturday, Feb. 17 for a 2pm tip off.
