DeLand, Fla. Stetson softball fell to Florida 11-2 Wednesday night.
The Hatters took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a sac fly to right field by
Lath Freeman. Freeman's sac fly scored Synoraki giving pitcher
Lauren Hobbs an early lead to work with. The Gators answered in the bottom of the first tying the game at one.
Florida took a 7-1 lead by the end of the third with
Caitlin Mullen coming in to replace her.
In the top of the fourth,
Evette Morgan roped a single into right field and scored
Michelle DiPuma. The Hatters wouldn't be able to get another run across though stranding two runners.
In the bottom half of the inning, the Gators made it 11-2 as
Victoria Ash came in to close out the inning in the circle for Stetson. The Hatters had to score two runs in the top of the fifth in order to avoid the mercy but couldn't push any across.
Stetson will now head up to Kennesaw State to begin conference play. They will have a double header on Saturday, Mar. 16 at 2 and 4:30pm before completing the series on Sunday, Mar. 17 at 1pm.
