Stetson Men's Basketball Earns 16-seed for NCAA Tournament

With fans, alumni, staff and students scrunched close together in the Stetson Room in the Carlton Union Building, the Men's Basketball team sat in anticipation. The team like everyone else was waiting in anticipation to see where the Hatters would be seeded.

The wait wasn't very long though as Stetson was revealed to be the 16 seed in the East and taking on the reigning champion UConn Huskies in Brooklyn. The game will be at 2:45pm on Friday March 22. The Huskies are coming off winning the Big East while Stetson is the ASUN Champions.

This marks the first time that Stetson has made the tournament. They also were able to be seeded straight into the round of 64 instead of having to play in one of the first four games.

The Hatters were able to go a perfect 3-0 in the ASUN Championship Tournament after their first 20-win season since 1974-75.

If Stetson can upset Connecticut, they would await the winner of 8-seed FAU, and 9-seed Northwestern for the Second Round in Brooklyn.
