JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Tim Gennes, of the Stetson men's tennis team, was named to the 2023-24 Atlantic Sun Conference Spring Winners for Life Team, the league announced Thursday.
The ASUN Winners For Life teams are composed of one student-athlete from each of the conference's 14 institutions who displays excellence on and off the playing surface. The teams honor a campus citizen who is respected as one who shares and demonstrates the ASUN Core Values: education, honesty, student-athlete experience, fairness, health, ambition, respect, diversity, inclusion, leadership, responsibility, and sportsmanship.
Gennes wrapped up his stellar Stetson career with an impressive 56-24 singles record, culminating in a remarkable 19-4 season record in his final year with the Hatters. As the 2023-2024 team captain, Gennes led by example, boasting a team-high 17-match win streak, which ties for the 7th highest streak in the program's history, a feat last achieved in 2010. This season marked the fourth time he led the team in singles wins, earning him All-Conference Second Team and All-Academic Team honors, the latter being his second career accolade.
In addition to his on-court achievements, Gennes has been recognized for his academic excellence and leadership. He was a CFA Scholarship recipient for the second consecutive year and a CFA Research Challenge America's Finalist in 2022.
Gennes' accolades extend beyond the tennis court. In 2021, he was named Stetson Outstanding Junior of the Year in Finance and followed up in 2022 as Stetson Outstanding Student of the Year in Economics. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.93 GPA, earning double majors in Economics and Finance. While serving as a Graduate Assistant in the Admissions Operations Department, he completed his MBA with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Since 2022, he has been a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
