DeLand, Fla. – Stetson Men's Tennis is excited to announce the signing of Mateya Stanisavljevic, a promising young talent from Annecy, France, to join the Hatters' 2025 roster.
Stanisavljevic, who boasts a career-high ATP singles ranking of 2117 and a doubles ranking of 1868 achieved in 2025, also carries a 12 UTR rating and has earned ATP points in both singles and doubles competition. His competitive experience includes a notable third-place finish representing Serbia at the national level in 2024, underscoring his ability to perform on international stages.
When asked why he chose Stetson University, Stanisavljevic stated, "I had several offers, but as soon as I had a call with the coach, I immediately knew that this was the university for me. The coach and I share the same mentality, values, and goals for the program. I am confident that I will meet all his expectations and achieve all my goals here."
Head Coach Christophe Noblet expressed enthusiasm about the addition of Mateya to the team. "Mateya's mentality and work ethic is what separates him from a lot of prospects. In this transfer portal era, a freshman coming in must be ready to compete on day one and transition quickly. I have no doubt Mateya is ready for the challenge."
Mateya will join fellow signees Santiago Padilla Cote, a rising sophomore transfer from the University of Arizona (ranked #11), and Mihnea Maftei, an incoming freshman from Romania, as Stetson prepares for a competitive 2025 season.
