TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Freshman
Kyle Jones and
Yohann Dessureault continue to rake in accolades for their accomplishments during the 2024 season as the pair were named to the 2024 NCAA Tallahassee Regional All-Tournament team. Trailing only Florida State, Stetson saw the most players on the All-Tournament team (2) while UCF and Alabama each had one.
Jones led the Hatters in the Regional with a .417 average, going 5-for-12 at the plate. He drove in a pair of runs, each coming on a solo home run in back-to-back games. With an on-base percentage of .417 across the three games, Jones scored a team-high three runs. The freshman center fielder also successfully swiped the one base he attempted to steal.
Dessureault went 3-for-11 at the dish, batting .273. Two of his three hits were doubles, tied for most on the team during the Regional. The junior second baseman was equally as impressive with his glove as he anchored the right side of the middle infield. Dessureault saw 15 chances, recording four putouts while assisting on 10 outs, making a single error across the three games.
Jones, the ASUN Freshman of the Year and All-Freshman team member, was an All-ASUN Third team selection while Dessureault was named to the Second Team. On their way to the program's ninth conference tournament title, Jones played a key role, earning a spot on that All-Tournament team, as well.
