WAREHAM, Mass. - Spending his summer with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, Yohann Dessureault was named the recipient of the 2024 CCBL Manny Robello Award.

This is awarded to a player that exceeds expectations on the field and displays exemplary citizenship off the field. Many players were deserving of the award, but the rising senior's attitude, work ethic and dedication made him stand out among the rest

The Hatter from Trois-Rivieries, Quebec came to the Cape under a temp contract and has had an all star season on the field. Over the 2024 season, Dessureault hit over .300 with 32 hits, 4 HRs, 17 RBIs and 17 runs scored. Alongside his work ethic on the field, Dessureault was also recognized as a great teammate that participated in the many Gatemen off-field endeavors.

This year, the Gatemen held a literacy night that was the culmination of a campaign that had players going into the schools to read with local youth. Dessureault was an active participant. Additionally, he has been among the group of players to work in the clinics helping young kids enjoy the game of baseball.
