THE LEAD
The Stetson University Men's Soccer team will hit the road to begin the 2024 season as they kick off the campaign against the UNC Asheville Bulldogs on August 23 at 6:00 pm. The Hatters are coming off an explosive season in which they had the second-ranked offense in the ASUN, leading to an appearance in the ASUN Championship Semifinals, where they fell short to Bellarmine in double overtime.
Looking to build off of last season, the Hatters hold lofty expectations with four representatives on the All-ASUN Preseason Team and a team third place rank in the 2024 ASUN Coaches' Preseason Poll. Including in those four players was goalkeeper
Nicolo Radaelli, who finished the 2023 season with 54 saves, second most in the conference, and four shutout victories.
Stetson will look to win their season opener for the first time since 2019 when they defeated College of Charleston 1-0 on the road.
INSIDE THE SERIES
These two programs have only met once prior to Friday's match when the Hatters took a victory on Sept. 5 2016 in DeLand. The game winning goal came off the foot of Joseph Alamo with less than four minutes remaining in the game.
NEXT UP
Stetson will return home to the Athletic Training Center on Monday, August 26 when they host the Florida International Panthers for their home opener. That game is scheduled for 6:00 pm with all the action streaming to ESPN+.
