Stetson fell in the conference opener 0-1 against Jacksonville, Thursday evening.
Jacksonville came out and pressed the entirety of the game trapping the Hatters throughout most of it. In the first half, the Dolphins registered six shots to Stetson's five.
Ashleigh Wise was able to save all three shots on goal as the two teams went into the half tied 0-0.
About forty-five second in the second half, the Dolphins scored to take the lead. The Hatters continued to try and create chances; however, they were limited to just two shots in the second half. The best opportunity for Stetson came in the second half as
Annika Seem lined up for a free kick just outside the box. She missed under the ball and sent it over the crossbar. Wise helped keep the game from getting away from the Hatters as she made a diving save that kept it 0-1. Stetson ran out of time dropping the game to Jacksonville.
The Hatters will take the short trip over to Jacksonville and play against North Florida on Sunday, September 22. That game will kick off at 1pm.
