DeLAND, Fla. — The Stetson Hatters came up short in a hard-fought 1-0 defeat to the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Saturday night at the Athletic Training CenterThe Hatters controlled long stretches of play and created several quality chances but were unable to find the back of the net. After a scoreless first half, FGCU capitalized on an opportunity early in the second period for what proved to be the match's only goal.

Stetson produced 11 total shots, including four on target, but the Eagles' defense held firm to preserve the clean sheet. Goalkeeper Nicolò Radaelli recorded three saves on 10 shots faced, keeping the Hatters within striking distance throughout the contest. Valentin Fontaine and Zsombor Pall each registered a shot on goal, while Weston DeSoto added two attempts.

With the result, Stetson moves to 4-8-1 overall and 1-3-1 in ASUN play.

The Hatters return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 28, hosting UTRGV at 7:00 p.m. for Show Your Support Night at the Athletic Training Center. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
