Sorrentino Records Second Consecutive Double-Double

TOWSON, Md. — The Stetson Hatters women's basketball team got a 23-point boost from its bench but came up short Tuesday evening, falling 76-54 to Towson inside SECU Arena.

Graduate forward Aleah Sorrentino recorded her second consecutive double-double to lead the Hatters (2-2), finishing with 14 points and 13 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass. Despite a slow start, the Hatters battled back after falling behind 18-5 in the first quarter. Stetson used a 5-0 run capped by a Jorah Eppley three-pointer to cut Towson's lead to 25-18 midway through the second period, and trailed just 29-22 at halftime.

The Tigers extended their lead in the third quarter, but Stetson continued to find success around the rim, scoring 16 of its 19 fourth-quarter points in the paint. The Hatters also controlled the glass, outrebounding Towson 45-43 and grabbing 11 offensive boards that led to nine second-chance points.
