Stetson Travels to Western Carolina for Sunday Afternoon Matchup

Cullowhee, N.C. — Stetson men's basketball continues its early-season road stretch on Sunday, Nov. 16, when the Hatters travel to Western Carolina for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. The game marks Stetson's second straight road contest as the Hatters look to build momentum before returning to DeLand.

Stetson enters the game at 1–2 on the year and is led by sophomore guard Jamie Phillips Jr., who has been a steady offensive force through the opening stretch. Phillips is averaging 16.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while continuing to make an impact on both ends of the floor. Joining him in double-figure scoring is sharpshooter Ethan Copeland, who's averaging 11.3 points per game and shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc.

Freshman guard Calvin Sirmans III has emerged as a strong facilitator early, already dishing out 18 assists as he settles into the collegiate pace. As a team, the Hatters are shooting 42 percent from the field, 34 percent from three, and 57 percent from the free-throw line as they continue to develop their offensive rhythm.

Western Carolina also enters at 1–2, coming off a dominant 95–44 win over Voorhees. Cord Stansberry leads the Catamounts with 15.0 points per game, while Abdulai Fanta Kabba and Samuel Dada share the team lead on the boards at 7.3 rebounds per contest. Kabba also leads WCU in blocked shots, anchoring a defense that has shown early-season promise. The Catamounts are shooting 39 percent from the field, 28 percent from deep, and 68 percent at the line.

Sunday marks the fourth all-time meeting between Stetson and Western Carolina, with the Hatters trailing the series 1–2.
