NASHVILLE, TN --The Stetson men's basketball team fell 93-60 to the Lipscomb Bisons on the road Thursday.
After falling behind 14-4 early, Stetson mounted a brief comeback with a 5-0 run, sparked by a three-pointer from Treyton Thompson and capped off by two free throws from Mehki Ellison. However, Lipscomb quickly extended their lead. Thompson remained a key offensive contributor in the first half, scoring eight consecutive points to help the Hatters close the gap, leaving them trailing 37-28 at halftime.
Stetson began the second half with a 5-0 run, with Ellison hitting a three-pointer and then setting up Thompson for a dunk, pulling the Hatters within six at 39-33. But Lipscomb responded, re-establishing a double-digit lead. Despite Stetson's efforts to stay competitive, including a 6-0 run fueled by an Ellison three-pointer when down 71-51, they could not recover, ultimately falling 93-60.
Thompson led Stetson with 15 points, while Ellison added 13 points and four assists. Jordan Wood chipped in with seven points.
The Hatters will wrap up their road trip with a game at Austin Peay on Saturday, February 15, at 5:00 p.m.
