DeLand, FL – Stetson Rowing hosted the Stetson Showdown on Lake Beresford on Saturday morning, March 15, featuring competitive fields from Embry-Riddle, Jacksonville, Nova Southeastern, Rollins, and Wesleyan. The regatta saw exciting racing across both men's and women's events, despite increasingly challenging conditions.

Conditions worsened throughout the day, with cross-tailwinds ranging from 7 to 19 mph affecting all crews. The wind's impact was felt particularly during the later races, but all teams adjusted as best as they could. A notable moment occurred during the W1V8 Flight 2, when a pontoon boat unexpectedly crossed in front of the race. Fortunately, the incident had an equal effect on all crews. Another challenge came during the W1V4 Final, when a Stetson boat had an oar pop out of the oarlock with about 500 meters to go, impacting their final placement.

A highlight for Stetson came in the M1V8 Final, where the Hatters took the victory with their fastest time in four years.
