TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --The Stetson Hatters took an early lead over #8 Florida State on Wednesday afternoon, but eventually fellĀ 5-1 up in Tallahassee.
Freshman Kennedy TemplesĀ got the ball to start for StetsonĀ and took the loss. Freshman Hayley Arnold came out of the bullpen, for the Hatters,Ā throwing three innings, giving up one run on three hits, with one walk and two strikeouts.
The Hatters got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Sophomore Addison Foster came across to score the lone run of the inning for Stetson on an error.Ā The Hatters were unable to hold the lead, as Florida State scored five times over the remaining six innings to grab the 5-1 win.
Kami Eppley tallied Stetson's hit in the top of the third inning on a single to right field. She also stole second in the top of the first inning which resulted in the error that brought home Foster.Ā
Stetson will have a quick turn around before taking on Queens. The days and times for the series in Charlotte have been adjusted due to incoming inclement weather. The series will now start on Friday, March 28 with games at 3:00 and 5:30pm. The weekend series will conclude on Saturday, March 29 at noon.Ā
