Lynchburg, VA – Stetson lacrosse fell to Liberty 22-4 on Thursday afternoon.
The Hatters found themselves behind early, when
Miya Scanlan scored a backhand goal off a pass from
Kaitlin Pani in the second quarter.
Anya Lucia Phillips added a second tally for Stetson as the goalie went to play her leaving her with a wide-open net. At halftime, the Hatters trailed 14-2.
Katie Kornacki opened up the scoring in the second half as Stetson was a player up on Liberty. Scanlan came through with her second goal of the game when the goalie left her crease again allowing for the easy score. Despite the effort, Stetson couldn't close the gap, ultimately falling 22-4.
The Hatters will return home for a non-conference match up with Stonehill on Monday, March 10 at 3:00pm.
