Gainesville, Fla. – The Stetson lacrosse team fell to No. 4 Florida, 20-4, on Tuesday night.

Samantha King opened the scoring for the Hatters midway through the first quarter with the team's first goal of the game. Anchored by strong defensive efforts and a solid showing in goal by Maddie Eckert, Stetson trailed just 2-1 at the end of the first quarter.

In the third quarter, Lexi Bird found the back of the net to make it 16-2. Heidi Cross added her second goal of the season early in the fourth making it 20-3, before King notched her second of the night to close the scoring at 20-4.

The Hatters will return to action on April 19 with a conference match up at Lindenwood. Opening draw is set for noon.
