DeLand, Fla. - Stetson lacrosse was defeated by Coastal Carolina 14-7 at the Athletic Training Center on Saturday, April 5. Prior to the game, the Hatters honored their senior class, including
Allyson McLendon,
Alexis Casperson,
Riley Alexander,
Mia Judd,
Fiona Williams,
Sara Freeman,
Samantha King,
Kaitlin Pani, and
Katie Kornacki.
Coastal Carolina quickly built a 4-0 lead in the first quarter before
Kathleen Nichols got Stetson on the board.
The Hatters trailed 6-1 in the second quarter when King scored her first goal of the game. After another Chanticleer goal, Pani responded with her first of the day. Coastal Carolina added one more goal late in the half, but Pani struck again with just two seconds left, narrowing the gap to 8-4 at halftime.
It took almost twelve minutes for either team to score in the third quarter with the Chanticleers striking to make it 9-4.
Rori Prilik scored her first goal of the season and
Charlotte Castiglione tallied one of her own to put the Hatters down three at the end of the third quarter.

Miya Scanlan scored a free position goal to start the fourth quarter, but Coastal Carolina scored five straight and the Hatters fell 14-7.

Stetson will host Queens on Thursday, April 10, for their final home game of the season at 1:00 PM.
