DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson Women's Rowing wrapped up its home slate with a solid performance on Lake Beresford Friday morning, going head-to-head with Florida Tech in a series of 2,000-meter races under favorable tailwind conditions.
The Hatters opened the day with a dominant win in the Varsity 8, where the top crew posted a time of 7:11.4, pulling away from their second varsity boat (7:31.4) and Florida Tech (8:04.1).
In the Varsity Four, FIT took the narrow victory at 7:32.7, just ahead of Stetson's 7:40.4.
The day concluded with two competitive Frosh/Novice Four races, where Stetson's depth was on full display. The Hatters' A crew edged FIT A with a time of 8:13.5 to 8:19.4, while Stetson B (8:30.2) also finished ahead of FIT B (9:28.0).
Both teams doubled athletes from the eights into the frosh/novice fours.
Next time the Hatters take the water will be for the Knecht Cup Regatta on Cooper River in Camden, NJ from Apr 12 (Sat) Apr 13 (Sun).
