DELAND, Fla. — The Stetson Hatters women's basketball has announced the addition of Sydney Moss to their coaching staff ahead of the 2025-26 season.
"I'm extremely excited to join Coach Bria and the WBB program. Coach Bria has had tremendous success at Stetson and I'm looking forward to working with her," said Moss. "The team has had consistent success in the ASUN, which speaks to the winning culture at Stetson. I'm ready to get to work and bring a conference championship back to DeLand."
A national champion as both a player and a coach, Moss brings a decorated background to DeLand with coaching experience across NCAA Divisions II and III, as well as the NAIA. She most recently served as the head coach at Wilmington College, where she led the program over the past two seasons.
In her first year at the helm, Moss helped guide Cassidy Lovett to Second Team All-OAC honors and the program's first-ever Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year award. The season prior, as Wilmington's top assistant, she played a pivotal role in the Quakers' 14-12 campaign and a fifth-place finish in the league standings, the program's best in recent memory.
Prior to her time at Wilmington, Moss served as the lead assistant and recruiting coordinator at Thomas More University. There, she helped steer the Saints to back-to-back NAIA national championship game appearances, including a 2022 title and a combined 63-6 record over two seasons. Her coaching stops have also included St. Thomas University (Fla.) and the University of Charleston (W.Va.), where she contributed to postseason runs and player development.
As a player, Moss established herself as one of the most dominant figures in NCAA Division III history. After beginning her collegiate career at the University of Florida—where she earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors—she transferred to Thomas More and led the Saints to consecutive national championships (2015 title later vacated). She was named National Player of the Year three years in a row by the WBCA, D3hoops.com, and DIII News, while averaging over 22 points, seven rebounds, and three assists per game.
A native of Union, Ky., Moss earned both her bachelor's degree in communication and master's degree in ethical leadership from Thomas More.
