DeLAND, Fla. — For the first time since 2018, a Stetson Hatter has earned a spot on the prestigious ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-America Team. Senior left-hander Jonathan Gonzalez was named to the Third Team, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced Friday, capping off one of the most dominant individual seasons in program history.
Gonzalez becomes Stetson's first All-American since Brooks Wilson earned First Team honors in 2018, a fitting recognition for the redshirt senior who anchored the Hatters' rotation throughout the 2025 season.
The ASUN Pitcher of the Year, Gonzalez compiled a 10-2 record and a dazzling 1.83 ERA across 93.2 innings. He struck out 105 batters while walking just 23, holding opponents to a .201 average and registering a 0.96 WHIP. His year included four double-digit strikeout performances and a 3-1 record against Power 5 opponents, punctuated by a thrilling performance in Stetson's NCAA Regional victory over NC State.
A force on the mound from opening day to the postseason, Gonzalez's consistency and poise made him one of the most feared arms in the Southeast Region. His efforts earned him First Team All-Region honors from the ABCA earlier this week, which made him eligible for All-America consideration.
Beyond the awards, Gonzalez left a lasting mark on the program. He finishes his career ranked eighth in all-time strikeouts at Stetson, joining an elite group of Hatters to eclipse 250 career punchouts. With his latest honor, he takes his place among the greats who have donned the Green and White at Melching Field.
