DeLAND, Fla. — Two more Hatters are headed to the pros!
On Monday afternoon, Stetson standouts Isaiah Barkett and Ty Van Dyke were selected in the 10th round of the 2025 MLB Draft. Barkett was chosen by the San Francisco Giants with the 296th overall pick, while Van Dyke followed just four spots later, going 300th overall to the St. Louis Cardinals.
With three total selections so far in this year's draft—including shortstop Lorenzo Meola in the fourth round—Stetson has produced its largest draft class since 2018.
Van Dyke, a senior right-hander, was a force at the back end of the Hatters' bullpen in 2025. He appeared in 27 games as the team's closer, posting a perfect 7-0 record with nine saves, a 1.52 ERA, and 71 strikeouts over 47.1 innings. His postseason efforts were highlighted by a dominant 4.0-inning performance in an NCAA Regional win over No. 4 Auburn, where he fanned six to match his season high. Following the season, Van Dyke earned Third Team All-America honors from Baseball America.
Barkett, the team's everyday leadoff hitter and third baseman, turned in one of the most productive offensive seasons in the conference. He batted .389—second-best in the ASUN—with a team-high 86 hits, 33 RBIs, 60 runs scored, and 32 stolen bases. Of his 86 hits, 19 went for extra bases, including 16 doubles and two home runs. He also led the team with 25 multi-hit games and put together a team-long 18-game hitting streak.
Barkett's postseason résumé included All-Tournament Team honors at both the ASUN Championship and NCAA Auburn Regional. In the Regional win over NC State, he went 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBIs.
Both Barkett and Van Dyke were instrumental in helping the Hatters secure back-to-back ASUN titles and NCAA Regional appearances, and their selections continue Stetson's strong tradition of player development and professional advancement.
