Charleston, SC – Stetson Volleyball heads to Charleston this weekend for the Steve Baumrind Invitational, where the Hatters will face Quinnipiac, Youngstown State, and College of Charleston.

Stetson opens the tournament on Friday, September 12, against Quinnipiac at 3:00 p.m., followed by a Saturday, September 13, match up with Youngstown State at 3:00 p.m. The Hatters close out the weekend on Sunday, September 14, at 2:00 p.m. against College of Charleston.

The Hatters enter the tournament coming off a challenging road trip with losses to UCF, FIU, and North Texas. Setter Nyah Molina continues to be the heartbeat of the team, tallying 197 assists and 87 digs. Quinnipiac (2-4) is coming off a tough 1-2 weekend. The Bobcats fell 3-1 to Morgan State and Towson before bouncing back with a 3-1 victory over Stonehill. Elena Giacomini leads Quinnipiac offensively with 92 kills, followed by Yagmur Gunes with 72. Defensively, Gunes tops the team with 67 digs, closely followed by Giacomini with 63.

Youngstown State (4-2) finished their recent weekend 2-1. The Penguins dropped a tight five-set match to Lafayette, but bounced back to sweep Saint Francis 3-0 and clinch another five-set win against Siena. Abbie Householder has been a force for Youngstown State, leading the team with 98 kills and recently hitting career milestones of 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.

College of Charleston (3-4) earned a solid 3-1 win over The Citadel on Monday night, marking their third win of the season. Caroline Noonan leads the Cougars with 78 kills, with Izzy Marinelli close behind. On defense, Jumana Martin stands out with 139 digs, averaging an impressive 4.79 digs per set.
