Louisville, Ky. — Stetson Volleyball opens ASUN play on the road this weekend, visiting Bellarmine on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1:00 p.m., before traveling to Fort Myers to take on FGCU on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 5:00 p.m.
The Hatters enter conference action after a 1–2 showing at last weekend's Boca Raton tournament. They defeated Bethune-Cookman 3–1 but fell to FAU 3–0 and George Washington 3–1. Nyah Molina highlighted the trip with a 40-assist, 30-dig double-double against Bethune-Cookman, earning her ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Zuzanna Bury leads the Hatters' attack with 172 kills, ranking first in the ASUN and 40th nationally. She also sits atop the conference in points with 195.5, which ranks 44th in the NCAA, and her total attacks are 20th nationally. Molina has been Stetson's all-around leader with 383 assists and 173 digs. At the net, Kayla Balfour anchors the defense with a team-high 47 total blocks.
Scouting the Opponents
Bellarmine (6–6)
The Knights are coming off a strong finish to non-conference play, defeating Mercyhurst 3–0 and Purdue Fort Wayne 3–2 while falling to Toledo 3–0. They will open ASUN play against Eastern Kentucky before hosting Stetson. Natalie Bland leads the Knights with 154 kills. Payton Parsons paces the defense with 176 digs, while Erika Smith is the top presence at the net with 36 blocks.
FGCU (5–5)
The Eagles recently split a two-match trip to Miami, defeating FIU 3–1 before losing to Miami by the same score. FGCU will face Eastern Kentucky in Richmond before returning home to host Stetson at Alico Arena. Barbara Koehler leads the Eagles with 125 kills, and Julija Grubisic Cabo has also surpassed the 100-kill mark. Reese Burry holds the team lead in digs with 95, closely followed by Hanna Borer. Erica Muhizi is the top blocker with 38.
