Stetson Falls 6-1 at Florida Atlantic in Road Match

Boca Raton, Fla. — The Stetson University men's tennis team fell 6-1 on the road to Florida Atlantic on Friday afternoon at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center. The Hatters now stand at 2-1 on the season.

Florida Atlantic secured the early advantage by winning two of the three doubles courts, clinching the doubles point before the No. 1 pairing of Kartik Mandla and Alexandre Verlaguet could finish their tight match, which was stopped with Stetson leading 4-3.

In singles play, Xavier Sarda Marti delivered the Hatters' lone point with a straight-sets victory, 6-3, 6-4, over Lucca Pignaton on court three. Stetson's other matches were competitive, including Alexandre Verlaguet pushing Mark Havlicek to 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 and Mateya Stanisavljevic battling to three sets on court four.
