Stetson Visits North Florida Thursday, Hosts North Alabama Saturday

DeLand, Fla. — Stetson men's basketball will round out its road trip on Thursday, Jan. 29, with a 7:00 p.m. matchup at North Florida before returning home to host North Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 2:00 p.m.

Stetson enters the week at 7–14 overall and 3–5 in ASUN play after a pair of tightly contested games against Lipscomb and Austin Peay. Collin Kuhl has taken on an expanded role in recent weeks, recording back-to-back double-doubles. Kuhl posted 22 points and 14 rebounds against Lipscomb before following up with 16 points and 11 rebounds against Austin Peay. On the season, he is averaging 11.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while also contributing 15 assists, 18 steals, and four blocks.

Jake Johnson has provided a scoring spark, tallying three double-digit scoring performances in the last three games, and averaging 8.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Ethan Copeland continues to offer steady production, averaging 12.6 points per game while shooting 38 percent from three-point range and leading the team with 38 steals. Calvin Sirmans III remains the primary facilitator for the Hatters, pacing the squad with a team-high 88 assists. As a team, Stetson is averaging 72 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the field, 33 percent from beyond the arc, and 67 percent from the free-throw line.

North Florida enters Thursday's matchup with a 5–16 overall record and a 3–5 mark in ASUN play. The Ospreys are led by Kamrin Oriol, who is averaging 20.8 points per game and is coming off back-to-back 30-plus point performances. Oriol also leads the team in assists with 93 while shooting 52 percent from the field, 39 percent from three-point range, and 76 percent from the free-throw line. Jackson Kent is the other Osprey averaging double figures at 14.3 points per game and leads the team with 25 steals. Dalton Gayman paces North Florida on the glass at 4.9 rebounds per game, while Mason Lee averages 4.8 rebounds and leads the team with eight blocks. As a team, the Ospreys average 82 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range, and 78 percent from the free-throw line.

North Alabama comes into the week with a 6–12 overall record and a 1–5 ASUN mark. The Lions will face FGCU prior to Saturday's contest. Cornelious Williams leads North Alabama in scoring at 13.6 points per game, followed closely by Zyree Collins at 13.1 points per contest. Canin Jefferson and Kevin de Kovachich round out the double-digit scorers, averaging 13.1 and 11.3 points per game, respectively. Williams also leads the team in rebounding at 9.8 boards per game. North Alabama is averaging 71 points per game while shooting 43 percent from the field, 31 percent from three-point range, and 69 percent from the free-throw line.

Thursday's game marks the 42nd all-time meeting between Stetson and North Florida. Saturday's matchup will be the 14th meeting between Stetson and North Alabama, with the Hatters earning a 70–67 road win in Florence earlier this season.
