LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Stetson women's soccer showed a strong response in the second half Thursday night, recording all eight of its shots after halftime in a 3-0 loss to Bellarmine at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium. The Hatters put three shots on goal and held the Knights scoreless over the final 45 minutes.
Clare Boesel made six saves across 66:40 in goal, while
Danica Wittmann added a save during her 23:20 in goal. Bellarmine finished with 19 shots and 10 on goal, while Stetson recorded eight shots and three on frame.
Bellarmine scored three times in the opening half, but Stetson continued to look for opportunities late in the period, earning three corner kicks after the 31st minute, including two in the final seven minutes.
The Hatters came out with increased pressure after halftime, with
Kamryn Wilson and
Payton Quinones each putting a shot on goal. Stetson continued to push late, earning two corner kicks and taking three shots beginning in the 77th minute, including a saved attempt from
Gianna Burbridge.
