DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson women's golfer Isaki Sakashita has been named ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week following her standout performance at the Babs Steffens Invitational.
Sakashita earned runner-up honors at 211 (-2) after rounds of 70-71-70, helping lead the Hatters to their third consecutive team title and a 10-stroke victory in a 16-team field. She closed the tournament with a one-under 70 highlighted by three consecutive birdies on holes 10 through 12 to help Stetson pull away in the final round.
She tied for second in the field with 12 birdies and averaged the best score on par 4s throughout the 54-hole event. Sakashita also recorded 34 pars across three rounds, showcasing the consistency that anchored a lineup featuring three top-five finishers.
The award is Sakashita's first of the season and the third of her career. She joins Filippa Jansson as Hatter representatives on the weekly awards list this season.
The weekly honor highlights Sakashita's continued strong spring form as she leads the Hatters into the heart of the season.
