Hatters Set To Open Spring Season At Sea Best Intercollegiate

JACKSONVILLE , Fla. — The Stetson women's golf team returns to competition next week as it opens the spring portion of its 2025–26 schedule at the Sea Best Intercollegiate, hosted by conference rival Jacksonville, on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 26–27, at San Jose Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Hatters enter the spring with momentum after a successful fall campaign that featured two team victories, including a title at the Navy Fall Invitational, and a strong closing performance with a fifth-place finish in Charleston to wrap up the fall slate.

Stetson's win at the Navy Fall Invitational was highlighted by sophomore Filippa Jansson, who finished second individually and followed the performance by earning ASUN Women's Golfer of the Week honors. The Hatters posted consistent scores throughout the fall, showing depth across the lineup and positioning themselves as a contender heading into the championship segment of the season.

The fall finale in Charleston saw Stetson place fifth in a competitive 14-team field, led by senior Julieta Oviedo, who turned in a tie for eighth to pace the Hatters individually. The performance marked another steady showing for Oviedo, who served as a consistent presence at the top of the lineup throughout the fall.

Stetson will look to build on that foundation as it opens the spring at the Sea Best Intercollegiate, a three-round tournament featuring an 11-team field that includes national programs such as Florida and Duke. The Hatters are seeking to improve upon last season's seventh-place finish at the event, where Isaki Sakashita led the way with a tie for fourth individually.

The Hatters' lineup for the Sea Best Intercollegiate will feature Isaki Sakashita competing at the No. 1 spot, followed by Filippa Jansson, Julieta Oviedo, Ailsa Brannock, and Anna Huettl, with Bridget Butler competing as an individual.

Play at San Jose Country Club will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday.
