SOUTHAMPTON, Bermuda — The Stetson women's golf team delivered a commanding performance to win the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate, cruising to a 32-stroke victory at Port Royal Golf Course.
The Hatters finished at 48-over-par (307-292-301—900), pulling away from runner-up UAlbany in the 11-team field to secure their third team title of the season.
Individually, Isaki Sakashita captured medalist honors for the second consecutive tournament, earning her second win of the season. Sakashita finished at 10-over-par (78-71-74—233), highlighted by a second-round 71 that stood as the lowest round of the tournament. Her consistent play down the stretch secured the outright victory.
Ailsa Brannock turned in a strong performance to finish runner-up at 11-over-par (73-73-78—234), giving Stetson the top two spots on the individual leaderboard.
The Hatters continued to dominate the leaderboard as Julieta Oviedo and Filippa Jansson tied for third at 15-over-par. Oviedo posted rounds of 80-75-73 (228), while Jansson carded 79-73-76 (228) to complete a sweep of four of the top three positions.
Competing as an individual, Anna Huettl tied for 18th at 24-over-par (79-74-84—237). Elizabeth Eberle finished tied for 32nd at 29-over-par (77-79-86—242).
Stetson's depth and consistency fueled the victory, as the Hatters led the field with 160 pars and 23 birdies across the three rounds. Jansson paced all players with 37 pars, followed by Brannock (35) and Sakashita (33). Huettl, Oviedo and Sakashita each recorded a team-high six birdies.
The Hatters controlled the tournament from the opening round, posting the best team score in round one and extending their lead with a tournament-low 292 in round two before closing out the victory on Tuesday.
Stetson will return to action at the ASUN Championship, scheduled for April 17–19 at Dothan Country Club in Dothan, Alabama.
